MAY is the month when everyone remembers and celebrates Mother's Day. It is only fitting for MR.D.I.Y. to launch its corporate social responsibility (CSR) dubbed "The Good Bag" this month. It aims to support a community of mothers sewing tote bags to support their families.

THE Ministry of Health on the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MOH-Barmm) has turned over Tuesday, May 18, 2021, several units of ambulances, medical equipment, and financial assistance to various recipients under the Bangsamoro Transition Authority's Transition Development Impact Fund (TDIF) project.

AIR France-KLM sent into the air Tuesday, May 18, 2021, what the company called its first long-haul flight powered by sustainable aviation fuel — petroleum mixed with a synthetic jet fuel derived from waste cooking oils.
The fuel used for the Paris-to-Montreal flight is part of efforts by the industry worldwide to experiment with alternative sources as regulators and governments tighten emissions rules for the coming decades.
Other airlines and plane-makers are also experimenting with using varying levels of biofuels or different kinds of sustainable fuel.

THE Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has protested China's fishing ban that covers parts of the West Philippine Sea over which the "Philippines exercises sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction."
In a statement, the DFA said it does not recognize China's unilateral imposition of a fishing moratorium in the "north of 12 degrees north latitude in the South China Sea" from May 1 to August 16, 2021.

THE Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) 7 is processing the application of 50 more units of public transportation for deployment under the second scheme of the free ride service program in Cebu.
Eduardo Montealto, Jr., LTFRB 7 director, said these include 30 tourist vans for healthcare workers and 20 public utility buses (PUBs) for authorized persons outside of residence.
At present, a total of 92 PUBs and modern public utility jeepneys (MPUJs) are deployed under the program and are plying various routes in Cebu, particularly areas near hospitals.

The marijuana plants in sitio Kamansili, Barangay Pangamihan in Toledo City are due for harvest.
The CIU headed by Police Lt. Col. Randy Caballes received information from a concerned citizen of the existence of the marijuana plants.
