THE Cebu City Government has reduced the number of operational barangay isolation centers (BICs) due to the low number of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases.

At the New Normal Oasis for Adaptation and a Home (Noah) Complex, only two blocks are being used since only a few Covid patients are confined there.

City Councilor Joel Garganera, Emergency Operations Center (EOC) deputy chief implementer, said only three BICs, which have a 380-bed capacity, are in use, but it did not name which ones.

SOME 23,293 displaced tourism workers from Central Visayas have been approved to receive cash assistance under the Department of Tourism (DOT)–Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) Cash Assistance Program of the Bayanihan 2 amounting to P116,465,000.

OVER P1.3 million worth of illegal drugs were seized by authorities during a buy-bust operation launched in Angeles City over the weekend.

The National Task Force (NTF) Against Covid-19 said the shipment of 15,000 doses of Sputnik V arrived at 3:50 p.m. via a Qatar Airways flight.

These form part of the 10 million doses that the Philippines procured from Russian Direct Investment Fund. The supply deal may be expanded to 20 million doses.
