One of the main missions will be rescue of an Emperor's daughter.
Bloodthirsty pirates have kidnapped the Chinese princess!

Review

I recently had the pleasure of reviewing the main Under the Jolly Roger game alongside the Pirate City DLC, you can take a look at the review here. In this review I will be taking a look at the latest Jade City expansion.

I found the base game although was restricted to a certain extent was pretty vast in size so adding more to the world just makes the game bigger and more intriguing for the gamer to explore, adding mysterious islands to explore along with new threats and missions. It was great to be able to explore an entirely new area adding more interest to the game, the stories although not fully historically accurate feel fluid and interesting enough to inspire the imagination.

The dlc itself isn't any different in terms of main gameplay, the feel of which still has that slightly dated feel to it but it was good to inject some freshness into the game.

Sometimes dlc packs feel like the developers are trying to just squeeze as much money out of a title that they can, very rare do you get dlc that adds more to the game in my opinion I'll put this into the latter category as I felt it adds new interest and intrigue in a whole different perspective.

Graphics and Sound

In terms of graphics the dlc is pretty much the same concept as the main game, but you do get to play as the female protagonist which gives the game a different and more inclusive feel and adds more strength in depth to the game.

The soundtrack and effects are a good quality and add that bit of authenticity to the game.

Summary

Time to put my thoughts on Jade Sea dlc in a summary, I felt it was good to jump back on the open seas to explore a new world, I felt the dlc added a freshness to the main game and something I will continue to return to.
