Sinabi ng opisyal ng Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) nitong Biyernes na kasalukuyan nilang sinisilip ang pagbuo ng cybersecurity training program, sa posibleng pakikipagtulungan sa ibang bansa.
"As we are transitioning to the 5th Industrial Revolution that mostly concerns and involves the internet and computer software, this (would be) beneficial for government, businesses (for) ease of doing business, and also this could help prevent cyber-attacks," ani TESDA officer in charge Rosanna Urdaneta.
Iginiit ni Urdaneta na hindi kagaya ng information and communications technology (ICT) courses, ang cybersecurity ay "multidisciplinary". "It's not sufficient that you know about computers," aniya.
Ipinaliwanag ng opisyal na kinakailangang matuto ng estudyante halimbawa, ng ukol saphishing attacks na maaari umanong mapigilan ng cybersecurity, base kay Urdaneta.
Nasa proseso pa ang TESDA ng pagtalakay sa panukalang Competency Standards sa Qualifications and Standards Office nito, at sa ICT Office. Itinalaga na ang TESDA board member na tumulong sa standards and competency development.
"We had a meeting on the proposed competencies yesterday. We agreed on a lot of things and we are confident that we will be able to present this to the expert panel and eventually to the TESDA Board within a month," pahayag niya.
Kapag aprubado na ng board ang Qualification Standard, kinakailangang maghintay ng tatlo hanggang anim na buwan upang sanayin ang assessors at trainers para sa bagong course.
Inilahad pa ni Urdaneta na target ng TESDA na makipag-ugnayan sa Israel sa pagbuo ng bagong programa."Israel has one of the world's largest networks of cybersecurity professionals. It also offers an advanced cybersecurity training to its citizens as part of the mandatory military training. So this partnership can be very beneficial to the Philippines."
Bukas din umano ito sa partnerships sa ibang bansa.
Sa kasalukuyan, iniaalok ng TESDA ang ilang ICT-related courses. Kabilang sa mga ito ang Broadband Installation (Fixed Wireless Systems) NC II; Cable TV Installation NC II; Cable TV Operation and Maintenance NC III; Game Programming NC III; Telecom OSP and Subscriber Line Installation (Copper Cable/POTS and DSL) NC II; Telecom OSP Installation (Fiber Optic Cable) NC II; Visual Graphic Design NC III; Web Development NC III.
