Lord of Scents Joel Cruz spearheads fundraising concert
A fundraising concert is being spearheaded by Joel Cruz, dubbed the "Lord of Scent" (on account of the big success of his perfume business called Aficionado Perfume Germany). The fundraising concert will be held on September 8 at 6pm at the Metropolitan Theater.
The concert was conceived to raise funds for the total renovation of the Nuestra Senora del Perpetuo Socorro Church (NSPS) in Sampaloc, Manila where Joel Cruz's businesses are situated - the Aficionado Perfume Germany and TakoyaTea. The renovation, which was estimated to cost about P50-M, is expected to be finished this September.
Joel said the ongoing interior works renovations are being undertaken by the Vitreartus Liturgical Arts.
The confirmed performers include Jamie Rivera, special guest; Alex "Elvis" Torres, Jath Sazon, Jacqueline Marzan-Tolentino, Lance Raymundo and his brother OPM hitmaker Rannie Raymundo who's been in the music world for more than three decades.
Rannie has composed thousands of songs but he admitted not all of them were good enough to become hit songs. Up to now he continues to write songs about life, love, struggles and success. But he also experienced failures, a lot of them he said. One of his most-loved songs is "Why Can't It Be?" For him, music is timeless. So, "just keep on writing," he advices fellow songwriters and song artists. Rannie is happy to note the rising number of new talents in the music industry.
Other performers in the fundraising concert are: Voice Spectrum, Kidz at Work, NSPS Choir, Theotokos Choir, CWL Junior/Corp Sagrada Familia Chours DPWH Region 4B/SMDEO Chorales/Philippine Orthopedic Center Chorale, and others, with the special participation of Fr. Jerome R. Secillano and Joel Cruz.
Program/concert host is Ahwel Paz.
(Tickets are priced at P500 (sold-out), P750 and P1000. Sponsorship is P25,000.)
