A big partnership was forged recently by two industry leaders! And expectedly, GMA Network and Viu Philippines's deal will bring in a wave of exciting new offerings.
Philippine broadcast giant GMA Network and leading pan-regional over-the-top (OTT) video streaming service Viu are set to bring world-class content to more Filipinos as the two enter a five-year partnership deal.
The said partnership deal, which marks the first-ever collaboration between GMA and Viu, will bring upcoming Kapuso shows available on Viu Philippines, beginning with "The Write One" and "Love Before Sunrise."
The partnership was made official during a contract-signing held last January 12. Representing GMA Network were Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group, and President of GMA Films Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes; Senior Vice President for Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable; First Vice President for Public Affairs Nessa Valdellon; and Consultant for Business Development and Strategic Content Partnerships Reena de Guzman Garingan.
Attending for Viu Philippines were Deputy General Manager Vinchi Sy-Quia and Head of Content Partnerships Garlic Garcia alongside Viu PH Content and Marketing team.
Produced by GMA Public Affairs, "The Write One" sees the much-awaited team-up of Sparkle artists Ruru Madrid and Bianca Umali. A romantic drama with a touch of fantasy, it tells the story of Liam (Ruru), a frustrated man who is given a chance to rewrite his love and life story with the help of a mysterious typewriter. With the love between Liam and Joyce (Bianca) dimmed by the years that have passed, both wonder what could have been had they not given up their individual dreams. Until one night, Liam stumbles upon an antique typewriter and finds himself writing - and magically making real - the revised story of his life.
Multi-awarded actress and box-office icon Bea Alonzo and Kapuso Drama King Dennis Trillo banner the original drama "Love Before Sunrise," set to be produced by GMA Entertainment Group. An epic love story, "Love Before Sunrise" brings to life the story of Atom and Tala and their humble beginnings from when they first met under the stars to becoming friends, lovers, and eventually ex-lovers while pursuing their dreams. A dramatic exploration of romantic desires and aspirations, the series will also be Bea and Dennis' first-ever drama series together.
Both "The Write One" and "Love Before Sunrise," which are set to premiere this 2023, will be available in Viu Philippines 48 hours before their respective TV broadcast on GMA Network.
The Viu app is available on App Store, Google Play and select Smart TVs, as well as on the web at http://www.viu.com.

After the successful run of her hit series "Start-Up PH," Bea Alonzo is ready to get back to doing a new one, a reunion project with none other than Kapuso Drama King Dennis Trillo.
The two are set to reunite on the upcoming series "Love Before Sunrise." In an interview with Nelson Canlas on "Chika Minute," both actors have expressed their excitement over working together again after two decades.
"Even before I moved to GMA, nirerequest ko na talaga makatrabaho si Dennis and finally, nag align yung stars and finally, we'll be working again," Bea said.
"Sobrang looking forward sa mga mangyayari, sa mga eksenang gagawin namin at dun sa show na gagawin namin. Excited ako dun talaga," the "Maria Clara at Ibarra" actor added.
The series is a collaboration between GMA and video streaming provider VIU.
Bea and Dennis worked together in a youth-oriented show in 2002 when they were first launched as actors.
"Love Before Sunrise" is the second collaboration between the network and the streaming service, with the first being "The Write One" starring real-life couple Ruru Madrid and Bianca Umali.
In the same "24 Oras" report, Bianca said that the series will be "an exciting journey" for both her and Ruru as it will be the first one they make together.
"The fact that we are part of the very first collaboration of GMA and VIU, it's an honor and syempre, nakaka-pressure," she said.
Ruru added: "To be honest, nakaka-kaba dahil first project namin together ni Bianca at the same time, parang medyo mataas ang expectation."
Senior Vice President for Programming Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, meanwhile, said that they are happy with the partnership with VIU as it will give the network the opportunity to reach a wider audience.
Lilybeth Rasonable, Senior Vice President for the Entertainment group, expressed how happy and proud they are to open 2023 "with a partnership with VIU for two very important titles."
VIU Head of Content Partnerships Garlic Garcia is also happy to be able to bring GMA's "unique way of telling stories" to the platform.
