Matapang na inamin ni Miss Universe Philippines candidate Clare Inso na isa siyang queer woman at ngayon ay may karelasyon na same sex.
"What a lot of people find interesting about me is that I am actually an openly queer woman," saad ng kandidata ng Lapu-Lapu.
Alam naman ni Inso na taboo ito sa 'Pinas at mahirap pa ring tanggapin sa panahong ito. Well, dahil graduate siya ng sociology at nag-aarap pa nga ngayon ng post-graduate course sa anthropology, makikita sa kandidata na matalino siya at malawak ang pananaw sa buhay.
Pero bukod dito, inamin din ng 24-years old na Miss U candidate sa naganap na preliminary interview na may isa pang interesting tungkol sa kanya.
Tanong kasi sa kanya, "How do you balance cultural and traditional values with modern-day aspirations? What advice would you give to other young Filipinas navigating this challenge?"
Na sinagot naman ni Clare ng:
"I'm standing in front of you here. I'm actually very open about the procedures that I've done, to look like this. Well, not to discredit how I was made by God because I feel like I was, I've already been made beautiful.
"But I've actually been very open about scientific procedures to enhance my physical. These are all based on the biases of society. "Uhm, being in a beauty pageant, I think it's really important to understand the cultural implications…"
Sayang lang at hindi na natapos ni Clare ang buo niyang sagot dahil sa time limit pero pagdating naman sa kanyang swimsuit at evening gown ay pak na pak ang pagrampa ng kandidata.
Kaabang-abang nga ang kanyang journey sa Miss Universe at kung mamahalin din ba siya ng pageant lovers at fans.
