Overview
Rubberduck Wave Racer, is the officially licensed Schnabels®bathtime buddy racing game.
Be a duckling - a squeaky duckling!
An incredibly fast ride over raging rivers and thundering white-water rapids. But your duckling also floats on lava, fruit juice and the Milky Way!
The ducklings are just as wacky as the tracks: Diver Duck, Superduck, Unicorn Duck, Beauty Duck and many more are available for you to choose from.
With up to four friends you can compete against each other - and everyone can be as cute as they like.
But don't be fooled - there are also nasty power-ups that can really bother you and your opponents!
Now get out on the water!

Review
Now those of you who regularly read my reviews (thank you ) you will know that I am a bit of a race nut and love anything that travels at a fast pace. From an early age playing on my MegaDrive I've enjoyed playing racing games one such title I spent hours playing and that was Micro Machines, I loved the aspect of playing with these small cars around tracks in giant world locations such as a bath tub. Now fast forward to the modern day and I come across Rubberduck Wave Racer, a racer with a similar mechanic to Micro Machines but with the items you are racing are in fact runner ducks which so happen to be officially licensed from the Schnabels® range.
The game oozes fun and feels great to play, the handling of the ducks in the water is really good and as you race around the tracks that are set out you can't help but love the light hearted feel of the game. Take part in tournaments split into 4 cups, Toy Cup, Summer Cup, World Tour Cup and Adventure Cup which at first glance kind of feels a little like Mario Kart kind of style (most definitely not the worst game to copy) As with most similar games the different Cups will unlock as you progress through and work to the top, the ultimate racing duck. You also get access to a few of the zany tracks on single race mode, you do get a few tracks to get you going but more will unlock as you progress through the tournaments, as well as unlocking more super cool ducks.
The game is so much fun to play single player but we all know that these games are far better played with friends and the game goes with the couch co-op style for up to 4 player madness. The multiplayer is so accessible with each mode having a screen at the start that allows you to add your players if you so wish, warning friendships may well be lost as the frustration builds.
Like with most racing games of this style it's all about crossing that line so getting there you need to make sure are ahead of the others using the many power ups that are littered around the track for you to take down your fellow racers.
The game looks and feels great, the handling takes a little getting used to but once you do you'll be winning races in no time, it's not going to become the main racer in my rotation and to be fair I don't think that's what it's here for, the game is more about having a fun time reliving a bit of your childhood and letting go and just having fun which is definitely what you will have here.
Graphics and Sound
The game looks really slick and you can tell it's really made the most of this gen power, the tracks look really detailed and fun with giant obstacles and bold bright colours you most definitely won't be feeling bored looking at this game. With the game being licensed from rubber duck manufacturer Schnabels® it gives the game a more realistic look allowing the developers to really go to town on what we would have bobbing around in our baths at home.
The soundtrack of the game is definitely fun with upbeat music playing throughout the menus that really brings across the feel of the game, the in game sounds are good and again adds to the fun feel of the game.
Summary
Time now then to put my thoughts into a summary, overall I felt this game oozes fun out of every possible pixel, each track is vibrant and it is alot of fun to race about. Like I said earlier on in the review the game is alot of fun playing single player but it really comes into it's own when you play multiplayer the game really opens up, you will no doubt have alot of fun playing this game. I definitely recommend picking this one up.
