Isinara ng Department of Migrant Workers ang isang consultancy firm sa Pasay City na nagre-recruit ng mga nais maging overseas Filipino workers sa Poland nitong Biyernes.
Sinabi ng DMW na gumagamit umano ng kompanya ng social media advertisements na nag-aalok ng "promising jobs" bilang trailer truck drivers at warehouse workers sa Poland.
Subalit, naniningil umano ito ng P280,000 "all-in payment" para sa pagproseso ng employment documents.
Kapag hindi kayang bayaran ng aplikante ang one-time payment, sinisingil siya ng inisyal na bayad na P50,000 at saka ire-refer sa kanilang counterpart lending institution para mag-apply ng loan upang mabayaran ang natitirang balanse.
Nag-aalok din umano ang kompanya ng trabaho sa Canada na mayroong processing fee na halos P500,000.
Sinabi ng DMW na ang consultancy firm ay walang authorized license para mag-recruit ng OFWs at walang aprubadong job orders.
"I am reiterating this warning to our kababayans, especially those who want to work overseas. Please, do not deal with consultancy firms that offer to get you jobs abroad. Always check the DMW website (www.dmw.gov.ph) for the list of licensed agencies and approved job orders," pahayag ni DMW Officer-in-Charge Hans Leo Cacdac.
Idadagdag ang kompanya at mga tauhan nito sa "List of Persons and Establishments with Derogatory Record" ng DMW at mahaharap sa illegal recruitment charges.
