Creating tantalizing, erotic games for 8-bit hardware is no easy feet. Getting a system like the NES to render a decent-looking character at all is an accomplishment in and of itself. Then you still need to design an actual game around it, after you just blew half your cartridge space on pixelart titties. Few games embrace this limitation as openly as Honey Peach. A game so half-assed that it comes back around to being pretty funny.
The game is little more than rock-paper-scissors with a striptease element to it. You're a handsome devil who has to take on a string of female competitors, each more skillful than the last. The GUI is mostly taken up by your respective hands, which rapidly flash between rock, paper, or scissor. You hit a button to make it stop and hope you randomly played whatever will beat your opponent. That's literally all there is to it.
There are no tactics to employ and the hands change so rapidly it's not possible to time anything. Just hit stop and hope for the best.
In each duel to the nude you're both afforded 3 pieces of clothing. Each round is then a best-of-3 contest, after which the loser strips one piece. Nothing happens when you lose except when you hit Game Over, but for the women there's a different pixelart graphic for each stage of them stripping. Always in the same pose, but with less clothing each time. You can then look at these pictures for a while before continuing the game.
After the final picture of each girl you then move on to the next opponent. All of them with different themes and styles, but the same rock-paper-scissors gameplay. When you then beat the final opponent, it kicks you straight back to the title screen.
There's not a lot to Honey Peach and you can finish it in literal minutes, depending on your luck. Still, it's a silly curiosity within the NES library that shows off what kind of shenanigans companies were up to behind Nintendo's back. It's briefly fun to play as well and you get to appreciate some pixelart boobies. It's something.
