Review
For a while now Chris Ryan has been one of my favourite authors, his books just seem to have a intense feeling to them that makes you want to read more and as soon as I saw his latest book Traitor come up I knew I just had to get involved.
This story follows decorated SAS hero Luke Carter as he is tasked to get together a crack squad to pull off a mission that for a reason unknown Carter knows very little else about this entails traveling to the other side of the world to Australia to recruit from the crack SASR units with a formidable reputation but selling the sizzle is a little difficult especially when you know little about the sizzle.
As the unit begins their mission you get the feeling that something just isn't quite right but as you are introduced to different characters you can't quite put your finger on what or even who is wrong. I always find Chris Ryan's books to be an easy albeit hard hitting read, you can quite easily clear a few chapters before you know it and once the ending was in sight I genuinely couldn't put the book down I just had to know what happened.
This is a stand alone book but I would definitely love to see more of Luke Carter he is an incredible lead character and perfect for this story and definitely has scope to create a series from this.
Summary
Time now then for me to put my thoughts into a summary, if you haven't guessed it by now I really enjoyed this book and could actually say it's probably the best one I have read so far this year. The writing style was typical of Chris Ryan keeping the reader on the edge of their seat throughout the book but at the same time making it an easy read. One million percent recommend this book.
