The team behind Hoyoverse's upcoming free-to-play action RPG Zenless Zone Zero could possibly be cooking up a collaboration with Capcom and Street Fighter 6.
Earlier today, the game's official English account on X, formerly Twitter, announced that there would be a "Zenless Zone Zero x Street Fighter 6 Creators Roundtable" this coming June 29.
The announcement seems innocuous enough, however, Street Fighter 6's history of in-game collabs plus the promise of a "full reveal" raises some eyebrows.
Originally revealed in May of 2022, Zenless Zone Zero is Hoyoverse's next big gacha release. It follows in the footsteps of last year's Honkai Star Rail.
While Star Rail famously went with a turn-based combat system, Zenless Zone Zero, on the other hand, returns to real-time action. The game looks to feature combat that's more combo-oriented than even Hoyoverse's existing action games, like Genshin Impact.
Released on June 2, 2024, Street Fighter 6 has been no stranger to collabs in the year that it's been out. Capcom's flagship fighting game has collaborated with media franchises such as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Spy x Family.
More recently, Capcom announced that the game was getting crossover guest characters – a franchise first – with Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui from Fatal Fury and the King of Fighters coming as part of the game's second year of content.
With this in mind, it doesn't seem farfetched that some sort of Zenless Zone Zero content will be coming to Street Fighter 6 and vice versa, especially with the former's impending release on July 4.
Of course, whether or not this is the case, fans will find out when the roundtable takes place on June 29.
