Managing teams or running companies has changed over the years. While managing skill sets is critical, many use technology tools as a way to enhance their productivity and capabilities in managing a team. In this section, we have business leaders, mavericks and leaders sharing the tools that they use to make it work.
In today's segment, we have Niall Hogan, who has a strong track record of launching and scaling new companies in global markets. In his current position as the General Manager, JAPAC, for GumGum, a global advertising technology company, Niall leads the Sales, Customer Success, and Operational Delivery teams and is focused on delivering revenue growth across the JAPAC market.
Prior to joining GumGum, Niall was the first APAC-based employee at Ogury and he was also the first European employee at Integral Ad Science in 2013, where he served as the UK Managing Director. In that role, Niall built the UK team from 1 person to over 65 people in 4 years before moving to Singapore to lead their new Southeast Asia (SEA) team.

Microsoft Teams significantly enhances our business operations, fostering collaboration across teams, clients and our stakeholders. It facilitates our virtual meetings, messaging, and voice calls in one platform, reducing the need for multiple apps. Ultimately, the platform enables our operational continuity, improving our decision-making process through real-time collaboration and effectively adapting our work environment.
Managing all presentations with Google Slides (Free)
We rely on Google Slides for collaborative presentation development, which seamlessly integrates data from our internal systems. Our team at GumGum utilises Google Slides to create and modify pitch decks, proposals, and reporting presentations. Additionally, we've developed a platform that connects with the Google Drive API to automate many repetitive tasks, allowing me to focus on customer-specific and data-driven requirements. The online nature of Google Slides facilitates real-time collaboration and efficient communication through the use of comments.
GumGum Studio to develop creative ads (Paid)
We use GumGum's studio platform to leverage my Photoshop skills, allowing me to create dynamic, animated, and interactive ad units with ease. The GumGum Wizard has been instrumental in facilitating the creation of over 10,000 ads, produced not only by our internal design team but also by our 65+ active agency partners.
Currently, the GumGum Studio is undergoing an update to integrate multiple technology stacks. The enhanced version will feature stronger integration with Photoshop and advanced animation capabilities. Our new studio is already in internal testing, and I am excited about the improvements it will bring to our creative process.
Tracking user interaction with GumGum Creative Attention Tracker (CAT) (Paid)
We utilise GumGum's Creative Attention Tracking tool to visualise user interactions with our ad units. This tool tracks the scroll behaviour of 5,000 real impressions and maps them on a graph for comparison with other creatives in the industry vertical. It provides valuable insights into trends in creativity, interactivity, and animation. Additionally, this data helps our advertiser clients better understand which components of their creatives are driving their results, making it an indispensable part of our toolkit.
Collaboration with Confluence (Paid)
In our operations, Confluence plays a pivotal role as our go-to tool for collaboration and documentation. It serves as our central hub for knowledge management, allowing us to capture and store institutional knowledge effectively. This capability not only facilitates easy access to information for current employees but also accelerates the onboarding process for new hires. Confluence's robust features enable us to create, organise, and share content seamlessly across teams, enhancing productivity and ensuring that everyone has access to the one true source of information on our staff intranet.
