Review
Let's be honest at some point we've all played knights and ran about with the broom handle as a joust (well I definitely did) and I enjoy delving into books with stories around this, The Story of Evil starts off at the start of an epic jousting tournament centering round Stephen Brightflame who had aspirations to become the next fearsome knight but on the horizon a mysterious evil lurks in the shadows threatening to threaten the world as we know it.
Stephen decides to fight back teaming up with fellow warriors Ty and Kari to rid the land of this mysterious threat and save Celestial in what may well be a fight to the very death. The book itself seems to start off with a slow and relaxed pace but you soon become engrossed in the pages with the mysterious threat in the background. The story allows all characters their own spotlight which allows the story itself to grow at a natural pace which in turn brings the reader deeper into the story itself.
I'll be honest it didn't really feel like my normal type of book but I still enjoyed the overall story and felt the book did engage me which made me want to read the book. Tony Johnson uses his unique writing style to create a unique world filled with powerful characters which creates an overall enjoyable experience.
Summary
Time now then for me to put my thoughts into a summary, overall I enjoyed the book and felt like the story captured my imagination. I really enjoyed the pace of the book and felt that it gathered pace at the right speed which enabled the reader to get more invested in the world. If you love stories of Knights and plenty of mysterious goings on then you're definitely in the right place. A definite recommendation from me.
