Overview
In the official The Walking Dead Universe Roleplaying Game, you will play as people struggling to survive in a hostile world. Exceptional challenges can appear from anywhere – from the lack of essential supplies, from conflicts brewing within the group, from hidden construction flaws in your safe haven, or from approaching walkers hungering for your flesh.
In the game, the player characters must not only hone their physical skills, but deeply explore who they truly are – what drives them to go on, what they consider worth fighting for, and what they're capable of doing, in the best and worst of times. Expect the stress and stakes to be high. The rules are based on the acclaimed Year Zero Engine, pushing the boundaries of the survival genre and making sure that every group can tailor the gaming experience to suit their own interests and play style.

Review
Being a fan of the series and a big fan of most of the zombie games I really wanted to try out the RPG game and really dive into the universe itself and experience that lore in a whole different way. The RPG game system allows you to step deep into the zombie apocalypse for a deep survival experience.
I went to my local game club to have a play through of the game with a group and give the game a thorough test. I handed the reigns of the GM side of things to a member of the group who is experienced in GM RPG games with myself stepping into the role of one of the survivors and really getting a taste of the game.
Although I am a big zombie game / film / book fan I missed the series although I have recently bought the box set to rectify that, I thought me not knowing the full lore of the series would effect the playability of the game but that wasn't the case at all and quickly I found that this was more a case of getting clear of the zombie onslaught and teamwork was the key (aswell as numerous success rolls)
I found the game play exciting and the further we went into it the more I personally got into it and felt like I was living the character and felt part of the world some of that would be down to the amazing set up the GM supplied which definitely helped us imagine our moves.
General feedback from the group was that the game was fun to play and relatively straightforward to act out and I would say that even for someone like me where I'm not massively experienced player. The game can be played as a one shot but also has the potential to be a continuous game, I am definitely looking forward to more Table Top fun at the club with this and other Free League Publishing titles.

Summary
Time now then for me to put my thoughts into a summary, overall I really enjoyed the game it really gave me a bigger insight and love of the Walking Dead world and also has given me the bug once again both for the series and for RPG gaming in general, console gaming is good and will always be my go to platform but live RPG games are so much fun and easy to get into (hard to stop though)
Verdict-Out of 5 ⭐

I give The Walking Dead Universe RPG an excellent full marks score of 5 ⭐, if you liked the series then this is definitely for you or even if you like Zombie games in general it really is so much fun. Would definitely recommend getting a few people together and delving in and see where it goes.
