Netflix just dropped a new teaser for its upcoming Devil May Cry animé series. The new animé, which is in no way related to the original 2007 adaptation of Capcom's character action franchise, is being helmed by some of the same people behind Netflix's Castlevania animé.
The new Devil May Cry animé was first announced back in 2018. Back then, Netflixed confirmed that Adi Shankar, the showrunner behind the Castlevania animé, would be helming the show. At the same time, the also announced that Alex Larsen, writer behind Netflix's Yasuke and the Far Cry side-story Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix would be head writer.
The new teaser is just the second time that footage from the new Devil May Cry animé has been shown. Netflix already gave a first glimpse of the show back in September of 2023, alongside a bunch of their other video game animé projects. While the original teaser barely showed anything aside, the new teaser shows fans a bit more of main character Dante, including his as of yet unnamed voice actor — Reuben Langdon, who voiced Dante in the games and original animé, already confirmed he wasn't asked to return.
The new voice will probably take some getting used to for series fans. Whether or not they'll come to accept them, we'll find out early next year as Netflix has confirmed an April 2025 release for the show.
