It's also cheaper than the Intel i9 and comes with twice as many threads (but laptops would still cost a kidney).
ASUS introduced a new ROG Laptop and so AMD designed just the CPU for it. It's like a match made in heaven. This is the Ryzen 9-7495HX3D designed exclusively for the ROG Strix SCAR 17 X3D. The name "SCAR" is most likely taken from the firearm of the same name, so you know they mean business when they say "Battlestations!"
Quoted the "World's Fastest Mobile Gaming Processor", the HX3D is more than 15% faster than their latest and greatest, the 7495HX which is designed for other gaming laptops. The main features here are the 16-core CPU and 32-thread GPU. AMD also highlighted the 3D V-cache technology for laptops which, theoretically, improves performance and efficiency when playing highly demanding games and apps.
It is clocked to 2.3GHz but can be overclocked up to 5.4GHz. The processor has 144MB L3 cache and 55W TDP. It also has two memory channels.
Manufacturers can opt for a dedicated GPU. If not, the Ryzen 9-7495HX3D comes with a Radeon 610M integrated GPU with 2 RDNA2 units.
The ROG Strix SCAR 17 debuted with 32GB LPDDR5 RAM (up to 64GB), 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD, and an NVIDIA RTX4090 GPU with 16GB VRAM. Moreover, it has a large 17.3" WQHD (2540x1440px) IPS LCD screen with a 3ms response time. Though, ASUS Philippines is yet to bring this one in the country.
