In Argentina over a hundred people have been arrested for looting and looting attempts amid rising concerns over violence in the lead-up to a general election in October
Argentina's security minister on Wednesday said that the looting incidents across various parts of the country appear to be coordinated and that they are "not spontaneous".
Small groups of people have been witnessed breaking into stores, and stealing food among other items prompting the deployment of police to watch over stores.
Blame for incidents has been exchanged between the office of the sitting president, Alberto Fernández, and radical libertarian and rival Javier Milei.
Milei, won most of the votes in a presidential primary in August.
He has campaigned on Argentina's stuggle with an annual inflation rate of 113 percent. and a cost-of-living crisis.
