Amsterdam-based startup Vox AI is building a conversational, efficient, human-like AI for drive-thru restaurants. The AI can interact in 35 languages with an accurate simulation of human response times. Vox AI estimates these AI workers will offer a potential 17% increase in revenues.

Drive-Thrus: Addressing the Human Factor

The concept of drive-thrus may appear purely American, but their popularity cannot be ignored. With more than 200,000 outlets across the USA, drive-thrus account for 70% of fast food sales, showing their integral role in the fast food market. There is a specific reliance on technology to push the drive-thru operations, but sadly the existing systems lack efficiency and long-term sustainability. The aftermath? Lagging response times, low accuracy in orders, and a gulf between customers and the synthetic voice guiding them. But Vox AI is set to flip this scenario with its voice AI—a versatile, multilingual, and highly accurate system that mirrors the speed, tone, and rhythms of human speech. The company has been testing its tech giant with one of the world's largest fast food chains, ready to redefine the customer-employee relationship in the fast food industry.

Re-engineering the Drive-Thru Experience

Fast food outlets have not always been static in their approach. Since the invention of the two-way speaker system by In-N-Out Burger's founder in 1948, there has been a surge of innovations in the fast food and QSR industry. These initiatives only reflect customers' heavy preference for drive-thru over physical stores—about 47% of Americans wouldn't consider an outlet if it lacked a drive-thru. The major attraction towards drive-thrus is their promise of speedy service to more customers. Vox AI's technology aims to solidify this promise further. Shorter lines at the drive-thru, higher customer satisfaction, distractions minimized for employees, and new chances for upselling—with an estimated 17% boost in revenue—are the prospective outcomes of Vox AI's intervention in the fast food industry. What's better, Vox AI's technology is suitable for any industry seeking significant advancements without making customers feel like they're interacting with machines instead of humans.

Creating a New Norm For Human-AI Interaction

"We are not merely creating a tool; it's the launch of a new standard for communication", said Maurice Kroon, Vox AI's founder, and CEO. His words reflect the company's vision for AI—a seamless, intuitive scenario where AI merges with human life as a natural participant. The Vox AI team, a convergence of AI and technology experts plus industry veterans, is collectively committed to transforming the drive-thru business module. Their series of innovations and relentless pursuit of excellence lead the contribution towards this revolution.

Founded in October 2023, Vox AI has been committed to its vision, creating a giant leap in AI's progression. Its latest offering, a remarkable AI that talks, understands, and reacts like a human, is ready to revamp the drive-thru experience. The invention promises numerous benefits—shorter drive-thru lines, improved customer satisfaction, redeployed staff for other crucial tasks, and an estimated 17% increase in revenue.
