Overview
Born into a broken home in a run-down community marked by deprivation, crime, and violence, Ricardo Chin grows up with one thing in mind: inflicting suffering back on a world that's failed him.
By his teens, he's fighting with inner-city gangs; by his early 20s, he's a newly trained Royal Marine Commando on his way to Afghanistan. In the eyes of the military, he's doing his duty; in his own troubled mind, however, he's a stone-cold killer out for revenge.
Wounded in action on the battlefield, Ricardo moves into close protection in post-war Iraq but finds the insecurities that have plagued him all his life soon follow. Embarking on a spiritual quest that leads to the ancient tribal wisdom of South America, he comes to realise there's a higher purpose to existence – one built on love, not hate.
A Few Words from an Absolute Nobody is the record of one man's inspirational journey from unconsciousness to enlightenment, with profound lessons for all of humanity. It's only by stepping back from the mental warzones we inhabit daily that we will learn the fight for survival is already won. Beneath the uniform of our flesh lies an inextinguishable energy; beyond the personal hardships and challenges, a masterplan.
The universe is calling to us … we just need to stop and listen.

Review
I do like to read books that make you think or even change the way you think about things in general, maybe even gets you to look at how you live your life in a different way. A Few Words from an Absolute Nobody is definitely a book that will make you think as author Richardo Chin gives an open and honest and at times frank account of his inspirational life story of his struggles in childhood through to his struggles on the battlefield, the man's story of strength in terms of both physical and mental is nothing short of empowering and definitely perfect to read if yourself are struggling to find a way in life.
What comes across as a man that likes to grab life by the private parts and roll with it no matter what he is dealt reading this book I'm a positive his mindset will rub off on me and help in everyday life. His inspirational story through childhood will be on that will certainly resonate with most readers and they will definitely be able to draw from his experiences.
If you're looking for life experience then there's no better place to look that a man that has pretty much done it all, from rough childhood to gangs and right up to serving in the forces the many different life experiences he recalls will no doubt be relatable to some and eye opening to others. I like the way Richardo has written this book as to how he goes about putting his life into words, he doesn't sugar coat anything it is what it is and it doesn't feel patronising at all to those who are reading it putting you almost at ease as you read.
With this being Richardo Chin's first book it shows he definitely has a talent for writing as this doesn't sound like a biography it just sounds like a man having a chat and talking about the situations and experiences that will help others gain confidence and focus in life I personally got a lot out of it, I would love to see more of his work in the future.
Summary
Time now then to put my thoughts into a summary, overall I enjoyed the book it was more of an enlightenment rather than your normal enjoyment but still definitely an enjoyable experience. I found it amazing that one man has had so much crammed into his life and still has the strength to plough on through. Being of a similar age some of Richardo's experiences I could relate to as growing up in a similar period life was a little different to say the least. I would definitely recommend this if you need inspiration in your life this book will do that for sure.
