As of August 2024, GMA Network ranked 20th on the Tubular Worldwide Leaderboard for Media and Entertainment Properties, making it the highest-ranking media company in Southeast Asia. This achievement places GMA ahead of its closest competitor, ABS-CBN, which ranked 24th. GMA garnered an impressive 3.63 billion video views across Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube during the month, surpassing ABS-CBN's 3.29 billion views.
Year-to-date data also reveals GMA's dominance, with 27.76 billion views accumulated across these platforms by August 31, 2024, outpacing ABS-CBN's 23.73 billion views.
Phenomenal Social Media Engagement
GMA Network's success is reflected not only in viewership numbers but also in its social media engagement. By September 2024, GMA News had gained 1.13 billion views on YouTube, while GMA Public Affairs led with 1.61 billion views, securing its spot as a global leader in the news and politics category on YouTube and Facebook.
From January to September 2024, GMA Public Affairs recorded a staggering 2.68 billion Facebook views, representing a 77% increase from the previous year's figures. On YouTube, the network also celebrated 24 million subscribers, boosted by its top-rated and award-winning programs.
In total, GMA Public Affairs amassed 8.3 billion views across Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok between January and August 2024. Coverage of key events, such as the GMA Gala 2024 and Typhoons #CarinaPH and #EntengPH, contributed to the network's growth, garnering over 245 million views and 36.1 million views, respectively.
The Digital Power of GMA News and Public Affairs
As of September 2024, GMA News and GMA Public Affairs had amassed significant viewership across all major platforms. GMA News recorded 1.36 billion views on Facebook, 2.66 billion views on TikTok, and 1.13 billion views on YouTube. GMA Public Affairs achieved 2.68 billion views on Facebook, 2.49 billion views on TikTok, and 1.61 billion views on YouTube.
These numbers underscore GMA's growing influence, with GMA Entertainment pages collectively achieving over 5.28 billion views on Facebook alone, surpassing ABS-CBN by 1.79 billion views.
GMA Network's Expanding Digital Footprint
Beyond social media, GMA News Online saw user growth surge by 67.7% year-on-year, rising from 16.8 million to 28.25 million users between June and September 2024. Page views also grew by 62.5%, reaching 78.9 million. Additionally, GMA Network's website remained the most visited local publisher, according to Similar Web data from July to September 2024.
Audiences can now enjoy GMA programs through Kapuso Stream, which allows viewers to watch content online via the network's official YouTube and Facebook channels.
