Ipinag-utos ni Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Rommel Francisco Marbil ang malalimang review sa isiniwalat ni Police Lt. Col. Jovie Espenido hinggil sa quota at reward system sa kampanya kontra droga na inimplimenta ng administrasyong Duterte.
Sa pahayag ni Marbil ngayong Linggo, sinabi nito na seryoso ang akusasyon ni Espenido at mabigat ang ginaw anitong pahayag.
Siniguro rin ng opisyal sa publiko na magsasagawa ang PNP ng comprehensive assessment at evaluation sa pamamagitan ng kanilang oversight bodies.
"We take these allegations with the utmost gravity. The review panel, which is led by the Office of the Deputy Chief PNP for Operations (ODCO) and composed of the PNP Quad Staff, the Internal Affairs Service (IAS), and the Human Rights Office, has been tasked to thoroughly assess and evaluate Oplan Double Barrel, including Lt. Col. Espenido's disclosures," saad ni Marbil.
"Our objective is to address any concerns, ensuring that the PNP's anti-drug operations are conducted in a manner that upholds the rule of law and respects human dignity," dagdag pa nito.
Ang kalalabasan ng review, ayon pa kay Marbil, ay magiging krusyal sa magiging future strategies ng PNP sa laban sa iligal na droga kung saan naka focus ito sa ngayon sa accountability at pagprotekta sa karapatang pantao.
"We are committed to a drug-free Philippines, but it must be achieved through methods that are just and humane," ayon kay Marbil.
Patuloy naman na matibay ang misyon ng PNP upang protektahan ang publiko na mayroong mataas na standard, integridad, at respeto sa karapatang pantao dagdag pa ni Marbil.
