Sinabi ng Philippine National Police (PNP) nitong Biyernes na mahigpit nitong binabantayan ang bentahan ng bagong uri ng droga sa bansa.
Sinabi ni PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) chief Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta na ang substance na tinatawag na methyl amphetamine ay katulad ng shabu na likido at tila mas mura at "less toxic."
Sinabi ni Matta na nadiskubre nila ang uri ng drogang ito mula sa tatlong Chinese nationals na nadakip sa anti-drug operations sa Pasay at Parañaque noong Miyerkules ng gabi.
"The liquid substance can also be converted into a solid one. It also crystalizes. You would think it's ordinary distilled water but when it is processed, it still causes a lot of effects in the air and produces odor," pahayag ni Matta sa isang press briefing sa Camp Crame, Quezon City.
Aniya, nagbebenta ang drug syndicates ng bagong uri ng droga sa social media.
Subalit, tiniyak niya na nagsasagawa rin ng mga hakbang ang kapulisan upang labanan ang illegal drug trade.
"Our regional police offices have substantial yield in terms of arrest of individuals and confiscation of illegal drugs so your government especially is not letting our guard down in stopping these illegal drugs fueling or entering our country," wika ni Matta.
