"I feel betrayed!"- SEN. BATO DELA ROSA

"Na-betray" umano ang pakiramdam ni Senador Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa matapos ipahayag ng pamahalaan na hindi nito pipigilan ang International Criminal Court's (ICC) sa mag-imbestiga sa madugong giyera kontra droga ng administrasyon ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.

Matatandaang kamakailan lamang ay inanunsyo ni Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra na hindi pipigilan ng pamahalaan ang ICC sa pag-interview nito sa mga suspek ng war on drugs ng administrasyong Duterte.

"I feel betrayed. Pag ganoon ang nagiging polisiya ng ating gobyerno, I feel betrayed as a Filipino. I feel betrayed by my government kapag ganoon ang polisiya nila," ani Dela Rosa sa panayam ng Teleradyo Serbisyon nitong Biyernes, Agosto 2, na inulat ng Manila Bulletin.

Samantala, sinabi ng senador na nagtitiwala pa rin siya kay Pangulong Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., na nagsabi kamakailan na hindi siya makikipagtulungan sa ICC dahil wala umano itong hurisdiksyon sa bansa.

"Hindi ako naba-bother dahil naniwala ako sa ating Pangulo. Pangulo na natin nagsasabi na hindi siya magko-cooperate at hindi niya nirecognize ang jurisdiction ng ICC sa ating bansa," saad ni Dela Rosa.

Kamakailan lamang ay isiniwalat ni dating Senador Sonny Trillanes IV na tinitingnan ng ICC bilang suspek si Dela Rosa, at apat na iba pang dati at kasalukuyang Philippine National Police (PNP) officers.

Si Dela Rosa ang nagsilbing hepe ng Philippine National Police (PNP) noong 2016, kung kailan nagsimula ang war on drugs ni Duterte.

Kaugnay nito, inihayag kamakailan ni human rights lawyer Chel Diokno na base sa 2017 year-end accomplishment report ng Office of the President (OP) sa ilalim ng administrasyon ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, 20,322 drug suspects umano ang napatay sa giyera kontra droga sa bansa mula Hulyo 2016 hanggang Nobyembre 2017.
